I cannot count the number of times I have had to answer calls from a deep sweet sound sleep! Not because I am super human who knows that a call was gonna come through to my cell, and not because I’m always a light sleeper either. When you call a person the first time and there is no answer, you should give them space during which you’d expect them to return the missed call, or you can send a text if the conversation is a must hear one. But some people just don’t get that the cellphones or hand set as its popularly known is not built as part of the human’s body system.
There’s a life beyond cellphones, you don’t expect people to talk, text, reply mails or “PING” while sleeping; or while bathing or taking a shit. Sometimes one has gotta walk, drive, work, eat or maybe even pretend not to hear the phone ring. An instance from my personal experience, I was having a good deep sleep one very hot afternoon; then from far away la la land I heard my cell ringing, I picked when I was able to; and the person at the other end of the line said, “are you sleeping”? With my sleepy tone I replied “english please”. Good enough for me the fella grabbed and rephrased the question to “were you sleeping”? This time I said “apparently”! Here’s the icing on the cake, he said to me; “I’m sorry I woke you up, I just wanted to hear your voice!” We said our goodbyes, and ofcourse I couldn’t go back to sleeping; I checked my logs and realized the nigga had called me five times before I even heard the phone ring. All that for just “wanting to hear my voice”? I bet no smart phone will do that if left on its own to make calls.
That nigger makes us look bad
